Use ICHRA Contribution Only: Removing the Subsidy Advantage from the Model
When the "Use ICHRA Contribution Only" setting is switched on, the model comparison excludes any potential subsidy adjustments. You may prefer to present quotes without subsidies, as premium tax credits are based on total household income, while census data only includes employer-reported salary information.
Step 1: Open the comparison view
Open the ICHRA model comparison screen for the model you want to update.
The table shows Current ER, Current EE, Renewal ER, Renewal EE, Model ER, Model Subsidy, and Model EE before any changes are made, giving you the cleanest data for comparison.

Tip: Use this screen as your "before" snapshot to show internal users a clear comparison of the model after the feature is turned on.
Step 2: Go back to model setup
Return to the setup page by clicking Back to ICHRA models. On the Default page, locate the Use ICHRA Contribution Only toggle. In this example, the toggle begins in the No position.

Step 3: Switch the toggle from No to Yes
Move the "Use ICHRA Contribution Only" toggle from No to Yes.
You will see a "Values updating" message in the upper right corner of the page while the system recalculates the contribution class values.

Feature toggled on, with values updating message.
Tip: Wait for the values update to complete before you move back to the comparison view.
Step 4: Return to comparison and validate the updated values
Return to the comparison screen to review the updated model.
Above the model name, you will see a yellow feature badge that says "Use ICHRA Confirmation Only," which confirms that the feature is enabled.
In this example, Model Subsidy drops to $0 and Model EE increases, confirming the updated calculation.
