What to do when you need to call out unexpectedly from work

Here is a summary of steps to take when you get sick or have an unexpected emergency and need to call out from work. 

When you’re out unexpectedly, please remember to follow through with the following steps:

 

  1. Let your Manager know as soon as you can via Teams message, or text Manager's cell phone (if you have it).
  2. Block off your calendar for the day or days you will be gone to prevent yourself from being scheduled further with meetings.
  3. Send a cancellation or reschedule request to meetings on your calendar for the day(s) you are out. Our preference is always to hold the meeting if you can OR if it is time sensitive, ask to reschedule. If you have a meeting with someone from within benefitbay, please reach out to them and let them know you will be gone for the day(s) and ask to reschedule.
  4. Submit an appropriate leave request in Rippling so that your Manager can approve it.
  5. Ensure you are listed as “Away” in HubSpot and AirCall.
